WHAT IS KCACTF?
I had the honor of attending KCACTF in the years 2016, 2018, and 2019, each time having been nominated by representatives of the American College Theater Association to compete in the Irene Ryan acting competition. This competition is the pinnacle of collegiate theatre honors, and more than 250 actors compete in the midwest region each year. The stakes are high, and the competition is fierce!

2019 SEMI-FINALIST - TOP 40 ACTOR
In 2019, I was lucky enough to be named a semi-finalist at KCACTF, placing me in the top 40 collegiate actors in the midwest. I was elated at this achievement and to be the first actor from my college to attain this title.

STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE.
Emma brought her same qualities of attentive, thoughtful engagement to each script and performance opportunity. She asks insightful questions about character and script. She cares deeply about dramaturgical context, and is also skilled at applying that context to production choices. Her acting is strong, in both stylized comedy and emotionally accessible realism. She was consistently one of my first actors (in each production) to deeply investigate and understand what a script meant and to use that information to help inform her character development. Astoundingly, Emma does all of this in a way that skillfully balances thorough and committed individual work with a real appreciation of, and investment in, developing the communally shared work.
